FAQs

What is PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana?

It is the central government's rooftop solar scheme for homes. Households with a residential electricity connection can install grid-connected rooftop solar and receive a direct subsidy in their bank account after the system is commissioned.

How much subsidy will I get?

Central subsidy is ₹30,000 for 1kW, ₹60,000 for 2kW and ₹78,000 for 3kW or more (maximum), plus Uttar Pradesh state subsidy (UPNEDA) where available. Amounts follow the government's current rules — we confirm your exact eligibility before you pay anything.

Who is eligible?

Any household with its own residential (domestic) electricity connection and a suitable shadow-free roof. Owned or rented homes can apply — renters need the owner's NOC. One subsidy is allowed per electricity connection. Commercial and agricultural connections are not covered.

What documents are needed?

Latest electricity bill (consumer number), Aadhaar-linked mobile number, bank account details with a cancelled cheque or passbook, and roof photos. Renters also need the owner's NOC.

What is the process?

1) Free site survey and system sizing. 2) Registration on the national portal (pmsuryaghar.gov.in). 3) DISCOM feasibility approval. 4) Installation by our team. 5) Net meter installation and DISCOM inspection. 6) Commissioning report uploaded and subsidy credited to your bank account. We handle every step for you.

How long does it take to get the subsidy?

Installation itself takes 1–2 days. DISCOM approval and net metering usually take a few weeks. After commissioning, the subsidy is typically credited to your bank account within about 30 days.

What size system do I need?

As a rule of thumb, 1kW generates about 120 units a month in Mathura's sunlight. A home using around 300 units a month usually needs a 2–3kW system. Share your bill and we'll size it exactly.

How much roof space is needed?

About 100 sq ft (10 sq m) of shadow-free roof per kW. A 3kW system typically needs around 300 sq ft.

Which panels do you use?

Subsidy rules require Indian-made (DCR / ALMM-listed) solar modules and BIS-certified components. We install only scheme-compliant panels and inverters, with manufacturer warranties (panel performance warranty is typically 25 years).

Do I need batteries?

No. PM Surya Ghar systems are grid-connected with net metering — extra power you generate is exported to the grid and adjusted against your bill.

Is a loan available?

Yes, banks offer rooftop solar loans under the scheme. We can guide you on the documents and process; loan terms are set by the bank.

How is pricing calculated?

All systems are priced on request after a free site survey. The quote depends on system size, panel/inverter brand, structure height and roof type. You pay the full system cost and the subsidy is credited back to you.

Is the site survey free?

Yes. Call or WhatsApp +91 78953 92672 to book a free site survey and subsidy eligibility check.
